# Submit feedback about one memory [Cloud-only]

> Rate one memory — an episode, a profile item, an agent case or an agent skill — as `positive` or `negative`, optionally saying why.

- Address the target the way /api/v2/memory/get or /search returned it: `memory_type` + `memory_id`, plus `item_id` for a profile (required there, rejected for the other kinds).
- `reason` and `suggestion` go with negative ratings only; `note` is free text on either.
- A target that does not exist, is deleted, or belongs to another tenant is rejected with 404.

Recording is not applying: nothing about the memory is updated, deleted, suppressed or re-indexed. The response is the id of the stored signal.

Negative ratings only. No default: an unset reason means the caller
was not asked, `other` means they rejected the list — collapsing the
two would corrupt every breakdown. Same base list as `Reason.code`
            on /api/v2/memory/update and /delete_by_ids minus `missing`, which a
rating cannot express because it always names a memory that exists.
(`outdated` — "right when written, wrong now" — reaches
`Reason.code` with the engine's next release; on
            release-20260901_v15 it is feedback-only.)

The target is addressed the way the read APIs return it: ``memory_type``
        +

``memory_id``, plus ``item_id`` for a profile, whose rateable unit is
        one item

inside ``profile_data`` rather than the whole document. Everything
        identifying

(tenant, submitter) is derived on the server; the whitelist is closed.

A reason is DESCRIPTIVE. No code triggers a mutation by itself —
        ``privacy`` in

particular is a signal, not a deletion request.
      example:
        memory_type: episode
        memory_id: 66dff0f8a9f84d8c9f62f011
        rating: negative
        reason: outdated
